After a few years of that I had several thousand photographs and no reason for any of them to exist. Meanwhile the people who pray for us and check in on us are six thousand miles away, and the thing I most wanted to send them was not an email. So: a card, with something real on the front of it, arriving in a mailbox in the middle of a week when nobody expected anything.
What buying one actually does
This is a purchase, not a donation. You are buying a printed postcard and the stamp on it. Nothing here is tax-deductible and nothing is being collected on anyone’s behalf. What’s left after printing and postage helps keep me here doing the work — that’s the whole arrangement, and I’d rather say it in one sentence than dress it up.
How it’s made
You pick a photograph and write the message. It’s printed on card — your photograph edge to edge on the front, your words on the back — then stamped and put into the US mail. We post to US addresses at the moment.
I read every card before it prints. Not to judge your handwriting; because my name is on the front of this and I’d like to know what goes out under it. It means there’s a short wait before yours is posted, and it means I won’t promise you a delivery date I can’t keep.
And because it is a postcard: there is no envelope. Whatever you write is visible to everyone who handles it between here and there. Worth knowing before you start.
The verse, if you want one
You can have a Bible verse printed underneath your message. You choose the reference and the words come from the translation, so nothing is typed in by hand and nothing gets misquoted on your behalf. Leave it off and nothing is printed — it’s a card, not a tract.
